Number of people per household in France

A home is considered to be a dwelling in which at least one person lives. Housekeeping is another term for the home.

Evolution of the number of people per household in France:

1968: 3.08
1975: 2.88
1982: 2.70
1990: 2.57
1999: 2.40
2005: 2.31
2007: 2.30
2012: 2.20

Thus there is a decrease in the number of individuals per household. In 2012, one third of households is composed of one person. The European average is 2.4 people per household.
