From what we can see the Gold 6150 is far more efficient than the Platinum 8180 with a correct price (for a pro server processor). However there are very few tests with 4 Platinum 8180 CPUs, and normally a quad socket of this CPU should be able beat the Gold 6150 flat. At least in theory.
