The Good Doctor, a mix between Dr House and Grey’s Anatomy

The Good Doctor, with Freddie Highmore (Norman Bates in Bates Motel) is a TV series of doctors in the San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital. This series is a remake of the Korean series Good Doctor.

A young autistic doctor takes his first steps in the hospital by saving seriously ill people or at least trying. On one side, we have a genius that makes us think of the Gregory House character in the Dr House series, on the other we have romances, sensitive moments that reminds us more of Grey’s Anatomy.

Shaun Murphy and his monitor Aaron Glassman are interesting, but the rest sends us back too quickly to Grey’s Anatomy with:

– romances,
– the war of the director’s job,
– the tearful music,
– the guy who sings in the background,

Which makes the show difficult to endure. Shaun Murphy’s personal story is pretty painful. However, we like to see this young doctor find solutions to medical problems that were insoluble at the base.
