The high-end AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX processor now holds the world record for desktop processors in the Cinebench R15 software. Indeed TomsHardware has teased the first results of AMD’s flagship CPU, not only in stock version, but also in overclocked version using a LN2 (Liquid Nitrogen) system. The overclockers were thus able to obtain a frequency of 5 GHz.
We have added the Intel processor with 28 cores and 56 threads (Intel Core i9-9990XE?) Which should be launched during the second quarter of 2019. It had been cooled thanks to an aquarium chiller (a cooler specialized in aquariums).
The overclocked 4GHz version of the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX comes from a one-month-old test, which was probably done using a watercooling or at least a very advanced aircooling system.
AMD’s processor beats by a few hundred points that of Intel.
