A comparison of two processors for two different generations of Ryzen. The first is the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X, it is engraved in 14 nm. The second is the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X, it is built with the FinFET 12 nm etching process. There is 100 MHz of difference in basic frequency, 400 MHz in Turbo frequency, as well as an additional 32 MB in cache for the brand new processor.
|Processor||Geekbench multi-core & single core|
|AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X|| 4749
|AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X|| 4375
As we can see, the difference in performance is minimal, with only 5%. It should evolve over time when new drivers will appear.
