The TDP has been announced for the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X processor and it is very high since we are talking about 180W.
Therefore, AMD will sell it coupled with a liquid cooling kit (or without for those who already have one). Which means that the final product will be even more interesting than the Intel equivalent, the kit adding surplus value.
On the other hand, this will mean that it will be difficult to properly cool the CPU at full load, and even more difficult in overclocking.
Similarly, the temperatures might be worse than the Intel Core i9-7900X.
